Mathematics - Function - Derivative

The blue curve is the graph of the function:

f(x) = x·cos(x)

P is a point on this curve.
The gray stright line is the tangent of the graph at the point P.
The black dashed curve is the graph of the derivative function of f.


Use the slider to move the point P and the tangent along the curve.
The gray dashed, horizontal line from the point P has length 1.
Compare the two vertical red lines and try in this way to study the derivative of a function.
