The total number of sequences in which n items can be arranged is given by:

n! = n(n-1)(n-2)...2 · 1

This is called the faculty of n.

In the form to the left in the simulation window we have the result of the number of different ways we can pick out k items from a set of n items:

- Ordered with repetition
- Ordered without repetition
- Unordered with repetition
- Unordered wihout repetition

Mark the checkbox 'Example' to see an example where we have n = 4 items:
a, b, c and d
and where we are going to pick out k = 2 items.

In the two data fields in the control window you can choose different values of n and k.
