Bloom's taxonomy
Bloom's taxonomy - a systematic classification of knowledge.
  1. Bloom's taxonomy is often used in the formulation of assignments.

If the assignment is to 'describe' or 'define', you know that this is probably a fairly simple task, at the lowest level of what is required of your knowledge.

If you are asked to 'analyze' or 'assess', you know that this is difficult, because the level is high, according to the taxonomy.

To get good grades at a higher degree study program you must operate at least partly at the higher levels.
Descriptions and definitions are not enough.
